Compassion’s Foundation Hosts First Annual “Clays for a Cause” Trap Shoot Fundraiser

ree

MAGNOLIA, Ark. — Compassion’s Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault across South Arkansas, will host its first annual “Clays for a Cause” Trap Shoot Fundraiser on Friday, October 18, 2025, at the Farmers Bank & Trust Trap Shooting Range, located at 833 Columbia Rd 13, McNeil, AR 71752.

The event invites both seasoned shooters and first-time participants to enjoy a day of friendly competition, community connection, and charitable giving — all while supporting Compassion’s mission to provide safety, advocacy, and hope for survivors.

Participants may register for the morning flight (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) or the afternoon flight (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM), with registration opening one hour prior to each flight. Shooters must bring their own 12- or 20-gauge shotguns and ammunition; shells should be 7½, 8, or 9 shot within the 1100–1300 FPS range. No gauges larger than 12 are permitted.

In addition to the competition, attendees can look forward to raffles, award plaques, and all-day concessions. The event is beginner-friendly, and safety is a top priority — guns must remain unloaded until it’s the shooter’s turn, and only one shell is allowed in the gun at a time. Safety glasses and ear plugs are required; basic sets will be available on-site for those who need them.

“Trap shooting is all about focus, patience, and teamwork — values that align perfectly with what Compassion’s Foundation stands for,” said Kinzley Norment, Victim Advocate at Compassion’s Foundation and a former competitive trap shooter. “This event brings people together for a good time, and every ticket sold helps ensure survivors in our community continue to receive the support they need.”

The fundraiser will be hosted in partnership with Southern Arkansas University (SAU) and the Magnolia Advertising & Promotion Commission. Seating at the range is limited; attendees planning to sit, eat, or watch are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

All proceeds from the event will directly support Compassion’s Foundation’s emergency shelter and advocacy services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault throughout Columbia, Lafayette, and Nevada counties.
